The gap between a video that gets four hundred views and one that gets forty thousand is rarely the camera. It is the first two seconds, the pace of the cuts, whether the captions are readable with the sound off, and whether the audio is clean.
All of that is learnable in two weeks, and all of it works on a mid-range phone. We will not tell you to buy equipment.
What the Two Weeks Cover
- Session 1. Shooting: framing, stability, light you already have, and recording audio that does not need rescuing later.
- Session 2. CapCut properly. Timeline, cutting to rhythm, speed ramps, transitions used sparingly, and the effects that instantly look cheap.
- Session 3. Captions and text, trending audio, music licensing in plain terms, and fixing bad audio after the fact.
- Session 4. Export settings for each platform, building a template so one video takes an hour, and a finished piece reviewed in class.
Turning It Into Money
Short-form editing is one of the easiest first freelance services because demand is constant and the work is fast once you have a system. Local brands, restaurants, gyms and clothing pages in the twin cities all need volume and most are paying badly for slow work.
We spend the last part of the course on what to charge per video, what a monthly package looks like, and how to scope revisions so they end.

Do I need a laptop or will a phone do?
A phone is enough for everything in this course, and CapCut on mobile is what most working editors here use for short-form. A laptop makes longer projects more comfortable but is not required.
Do I need to buy CapCut Pro?
No. The free version covers the course. We point out which Pro features are genuinely time-saving if you start taking paid work.
Will you help me grow my own page?
Content strategy is touched on, but growth is the focus of the six-week Social Media Marketing course. This one is about the craft of editing.
Is an internship included?
No. Short courses include the certificate only. If you upgrade to a professional course within three months, this fee is credited towards it.
